Animals...They're going to kill me someday DX

A job at the Animal Shelter isn't easy at all.
Did you know that coincedentally enough, most of the animals they find on the street are cats and dogs?
We only have like two other different kind of animals.

Well, I love animals, actually. But they were so extremely weird today.

So I came in and the dogs were barking more than usual, I noticed. I put on my apron and asked Kayla [good friend I met there] what was wrong. She said she'd been trying to calm them down an hour before I came in, but they never did. Weird, much?

The dog I usually visit first, [which me and my friends (also employees) call "Jojo"] was abondoned and tied to a street post only three months old. Though he's so playful and sweet, and so energetic every time I'm going to check on him. Today, he was the total opposite. And he refused to get out of the cage for his daily check up. He wouldn't even eat. I asked Andy [my boyfriend, met him through work] what the hell was going on today, and he said it's the Bad-Luck day. It happens everytime someone jinx it by saying, "God, it's so calm today." I told him he was paranoid and because of him saying that, he was to try to get Jojo out of the freaking cage.

He never did.

There goes one third my salary for the day.

Okay, so none of the animals [except for two cats, Lily and Kitty, they're twins] wanted to come out of the cage. Fudge them then, right?

Wrong.

We knew our boss would go hysterical if we didn't check on them. So we did something never done in the history of that shelter.

We checked them inside their cages.

Gah! Never try that!!!

Andy and Joe told Kayla and me we should take Big One [the biggest dog there, mixture, not sure of what, though.] for a bath, because he was the only dirty one.

Okay, so no big deal. He's cheked up, we struggled a bit [by that I mean a LOT] to get him out of his cage. Carried him to the back room.

He's not so light.

Dogs were still barking like crazy at this time, and now the cats were screeching like hissies. Grr.

Big One did not want to take a bath, let me tell you that.

"It seems you took more of a bath than him." That's what Joe told Kayla and me when we returned with Big One.

I. Hate. Joe.

Then, to top it off, not ONE person came in today. There's usually at least four people who come during our shift, and at least ONE goes home considering a pet.

Zero today.

There goes half my salary.

Now let me tell you something. I did NOT have a scratch on my arm when I went to work.

SALAMI SCARTCHED ME!

The cutest, most adorable Siamese cat there scratched me because it didn't like it's food.

If he didn't like it, he could've meowed it somehow! Not scratched me and cause me to bleed!
Luckily, Andy found the first aid kit, but it wasn't a very painless process.

Gah.

So there. I left early because I had had enough, and Kayla said she'll probably close up early. [Her family owns the shelter.]

Not my day.

Agh.

wow. Sounds tough. Maybe it's one of those "there's a storm coming" animal things.
