There is a world that the humans don't know of. It is the one that keeps their world going. Without it, the Earth would be... well, no one really knows or wants to know.
This is the world of Elementals. Elementals look just like humans and age just like humans, but they are not humans. They get energy from their elements which in turn means that they do not need as much food or sleep as humans. They rule over the elements and keep everything in balance. However, they do not try to keep this balance. The Elementals are in a constant battle for power. This battle is constantly felt by humans through things like droughts and floods.
~The Different Elementals~
Deseronto: They have control over lightning and electrical currents. They have very little affect on nature in the battle for power. Most of the time the things they do just help the Keahi. This makes them extremely jealous of the other Elementals. They live anywhere where the lightning strikes often.
Keahi: They have control over fire. They are the cause of any unexplained fire, and they help to make the man made fires worse. They can be found in the hottest places on Earth, usually in volcanic areas.
Nen: They control water, can breath under water and if you look close enough you can see a bit of skin webbed between their fingers. If you were to see their feet you'd see the same thing. They are the cause of heavy rainfalls and floods. They can be found anywhere by the water. They are the ones humans encounter the most.
Vayu: They have control over the winds and can glide on ones that are strong enough. With their element the Vayu can redirect the other elements and take over territories in that way. However, this also enables the Tlalli to take the same territory. Because of this, the Vayu hate the Tlalli. They are usually in the windiest places.
Tlalli: They have control of earth. They are the cause of droughts. They follow the Vayu and take their territories from them. They live anywhere dry and barren.
Chilli: They are the ones who make the air cold in winter. They work together with the Nen, but only because their homes are in the coldest places that need the ice in order to exist.

The battle for power is getting worse. The Elementals are fighting each other even more viciously and with less concern for the humans who they already care very little for. Weather is getting more and more severe, droughts are more common and so are floods. The ice caps are melting and everything is getting warmer. Scientists call it global warming, and say there is no knowing what exactly causes it.
Little do they, or any humans, know that the cause could very easily be their next door neighbor. But some humans are getting smart, and a few Elementals are beginning to notice the problem at hand. Now they need to bring this to the attention ofall the Elementals, but Elementals are stubborn, so will they listen? Or will this war drag on into destruction?

I ran my fingers through the sand as I sat on the beach. The breeze was cold but peaceful as it pulled my semi-long hair back away from my face. I loved the ocean breeze. It carried the scent of the water.
There was no one on this particular stretch of beach so my day had been peaceful so far. All was quiet but the waves and the birds. If I tried hard enough, I could hear the distant roar of cars passing by, but I normally didn't try.
Standing, I made my way to the water and walked right in. It was cold, as always, but I embraced it. When it was deep enough, I dove right in. I let myself drift upside down for a while, looking up at the sunlight that filtered through the waves. I could stay like this forever. And I would. But if people started to come, I'd have to wait for a big group to pop up unnoticed. I'd found before that they grew suspicious when I surfaced and there hadn't been anyone in the water for hours. I felt sorry for them. They couldn't breathe underwater like I could.
