how can people NOT think global warming is real???!

Well, I can understand how people think that. For one thing, reports of global warming are released officially by the government. Any sensible person would suspect that it was a hoax, begun by power-hungry politicians. But the main reason, in my mind, is that they're afraid. They know what they've done to the Earth, and they don't want to face the music. So they go into denial. *shrug*

*sigh* you are so right... i was doing a persuasive essay in english, and i chose to support my opinion on global warming. so before i wrote it, i took a survey of how many people in my english and american history classes think that global warming is real. a bunch of my friends just don't even care! it really got on my nerves... so i sent them my essay when it was finished! ;D

Hm. Or perhaps its because its very hard to prove that it is/is not caused by us. I'm not saying that it doesn't exist, but it's just hard to prove. Think of it this way, the Ice Age happened and wasn't caused by humans, and there are studies shown that the world has a pattern of getting hotter then colder then hotter again. Maybe this is just part of the cycle. 

Anyway, it's not that I don't believe, I'm just skeptical and a bit indifferent, because, even if we ARE causing global warming, it's already in progress. We can't stop it, we can only slow it down. I don't feel like I need to bike seven miles to school instead of driving to squeeze a few more days of life in the long run. I'll die when I die, you know? Oh well. I joined this thinking someone could convince me. So feel free to try.

... You're not really much of a help are you? This is for people who belive it is caused by humans. Though, it is true. Have you heard of slash and burn? That's where they cut down trees or/and burn it to make land. Trees help keep a stable temperature and supply us oxygen. Without trees, the world will heat up dramatically and up like the other planets close to the sun.
And if you have children or there are people you care about and you want them to have a good future, you want to make it as nice as possible.
Going vegan can reduce global warming by 70%, but that's if we have a majority of people doing it. There will be a point in time where global warming is irriversable.

Let's try our best people.

Yeahhh, I admit I'm not much of help. Or am I? I'm basically warning you guys what you're going up against. I thought this forum was for people who hated global warming? Can I hate the effects and still not be totally convinced we are causing it? Plus, I was just answering this forum's question "How can people not believe Global Warming is real" Yes, burning trees is bad. Really bad, actually. I lead a...march? against making this forest a highway in my town. It was pretty cool and it worked. BTW I'm already vegan, not that I have much of a choice about it. My mama's vegan and I can't cook...so yeah, I'm pretty vegan. Yay, tofu. ( actually i think it tastes good ) Anywho, I'm not looking forward to having childern, personally. A little me frankly scares me. A lot. And everyone I care about is either dead or in this generation (or my mom's generation)... So there's that.

According to ohwhatsthatwebsite they think it's already irreversible due to a ice-reflecting-sun thing i could explain to you, if you would like. Yup. I did my homework. I don't just turn cynical without a reason.

I suggest you get a group of youngish people to go on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. She'd be thrilled. All you need is a plan of action, then email her. I think you would find this quite helpful.

Because they are ignorant people who want to continue living their comfortable lives with no change in them. Global Warming means BAD and changing our ways, and people don't like that. they would rather be greedy and excessive and living under the false illusion that everything is just dandy

Show them videos about affects of global warming. Get other people who believe...Who KNOW global warming is real and get them to convince your parents.

Well, I know how you can convince them that the polar ice cap is melting. It's a never ending cycle caused by global warming. See, the ice cap started to melt due to global warming. That exposed dark blue sea water. Sun is attracted to the dark blue sea water. Warms up the water, just enough to melt the ice around it, which exposes more blue water. That melts more ice, which exposes more water, which melts more ice, and so on and so forth until the polar ice cap and the poor penguins (or polar bears, I always forget which are on the ice cap...) have no more ice. Sad, isn't it. Unfortunately I'm at a loss of how you, or anyone really, could stop this one, but maybe someone out their will find a way(:
