Why was Dylan "Really" Created?

Okay, so all you Max fans, I need your help to answer this question.

So, in the new Fang book, there's a new character, by the name of Dylan (kind of weird, since everyone else have unusual names. That might mean something. hmm...). Now, Dylan was supposedly created to be Max's perfect other half, and apparently by that, they mean her lover.

But that's when the conflict of that happens. Dylan is a birdkid, just like the flock, right? Well, if he is, that means the people who created him who are stationed in Africa were once upon a time connected with Itex and their genetic hybrid experiments. Itex were and are trying to kill the flock, right? So, because no whitecoat could possibly ever be trusted or have a single ounze of good inside of them, is Dylan's purpose really to be Max's other half, or was something way more diabolical his real purpose?

Maybe he's the reason why Fang is proclaimed the first to die.

You tell me.

on the one hand he could actualy be good...
or he could be not max's "perfect other half" but like an evil twin...
who knows but im just gonna let JP tell the story and be suprised rather than overthink it and ruin the book for myself...

i think the whitecoats didnt think theyd make it that far so they made fangs expiration date too early so they created dylan so that the flocks life could go on and the whitecoats can continue to challenge them
excpet of course NONE can replace fang so thats where the conflict will probably come in; ▶ Reply to This

It gave the characters more depth, and I think JP's passion for the book was still fully intact. But now, with the other two books he's trying to promote, his focus is off.

Hopefully, in the sixth book, he can pull it together.

But other than that, I'll be thinking about this . . . Was Dylan really created in Africa, and was he shipped and is living there? And why would they make Max a lover anyway!? As Mariana said, her whole life really is a test. So I guess I'll wait to buy the book in March.; ▶ Reply to This
