what will happen IF fang dies?

ok im not an anti but one did bring up this subject!
IF fang dies how will it ruin the series?
is that what we all are reading the books for?

I was just listening to the song Goodbye my Lover by James Blunt and whenever I hear it, it reminds me of *SPOILER* when Oz died in The Lake House. and it almost brought me to tears just listening to the song.
