I am addressing this issue because I am sick and tired of people doing this, and it needs to be stopped, or at least tried to be stopped. It's not okay for people do be doing this. Sure, your personal opinion should be respected, but most of you are just doing this for the stupidest, most shallow reasons. Please read on.

Okay, to understand what I'm going to be talking about, you HAVE TO READ THIS ARTICLE in its entirety:

http://www.mtv.com/movies/news/articles/1613475/story.jhtml

Now do you people understand? Catherine Hardwicke isn't saying that she wants Robert and Kristen to try out ONLY for MR, but for this IF I STAY also!

Robert Pattinson; personally, I am not a fan of this guy, but I am not a hater either. He's alright with me. But, I don't think Hardwicke is that stupid to put Rob in MR. I don't know if there is a role for Rob in IF I STAY, since I never read it, but definitely not in MR. So CALM DOWN. If anything Hardwicke will give him a cameo role. Also, Hardwicke didn't say the names of ANY CHARACTERS FROM 'MAXIMUM RIDE' OR 'IF I STAY'. So that doesn't necessarily mean she want Rob and Kristen for Max and Fang (or any other characters in either book/series).

Now; Kristen Stewart. Personally, I love this chick. I am a huge fan of her's. She is stylish, beautiful, smart, nice and a GREAT actress. There; I said it. GREAT. For those of you Twilight fans who have only seen her in Twilight, just shut up. That role of Bella was not good to begin with (yes, I have read all four of the books). Bella is a big Mary Sue. Not one actress would be able to do her justice, because they are all better than that. Watch INTO THE WILD, CATCH THAT KID, IN THE LAND OF WOMEN, CUTLASS, PANIC ROOM, and all of her other movies, and tell me then what you think of Kristen's acting then. Enough with the "Oh she looks nothing like Bella" or "She had one expression all throughout the movie." Bella, in the books, was basically all the same, personality/expression-wise ( 'I blushed chagrid,' 'I stifled a gasp,' was said a heck of a lot by Bella through the series). So please don't give me that crap, Twilighters.

Personally, I wouldn't mind Kristen in the movie...and/or as Max. I think she could pull it off. Heck, she's playing badass Joan Jett in THE RUNAWAYS, I think she can play a badass Max. Do I think she is the best for the role of Max? Actually, no. Do I think she would be good as Max? YES. As big of a fan I am of her, I think it would be...interesting to see a fresh face that has a great deal of talent. Like a new Angelina Jolie (acting-wise). But Kristen would be good in the role, nevertheless. She could totally kick major Eraser-butt. Also, in the interview it said that there may be a role for Kristen in IF I STAY; not MR. Are we all calmed down now?!

Okay? So please stop bashing Kristen. She has quite a few movies coming up (like...five I think?), so I don't think she will be very able to pencil in MR. Leave the girl alone. Kristen herself isn't saying she wants to take the role, it's Hardwicke. If KStew isn't how you pictured Max, fine, it's your mental picture, but that doesn't give you the right to talk crap about her because she isn't how you pictured Max. How would you like it if you met your boyfriend's or girlfriend's family, and you were extremely anxious to meet them, and they said, "Oh, you aren't how I pictured my son's/daughter's girlfriend/boyfriend to be. Now I don't like you and never will." or "You don't act like how I think my son's/daughter's boyfriend/girlfriend should act. Go away."? Not good, I'd guess. The same thing goes for Kristen Stewart. That is what you are doing to her. She wouldn't like how you're treating her either. Give her a chance at least. You are just automatically shunning her for her looks/acting/age. And for those of you who are saying that Kristen is too old to play Max, on the contrary, she is right on target. Max described herself in Book 1 (which they will be filming/adapting) as being of the height of 5'8. Kristen is also 5'8. Max also described the Flock and herself as looking older than their actual age. So if Max looked about 19, and she is supposed to be14, that would be just perfect. So Kristen Stewart could be Max. So now, stop with these lame petitions and discussion threads and comments and all that stuff. Even if Kristen (or Rob) were casted, it isn't life or death; just re-read the books to console yourself from your worst nightmare casting and picture whoever you picture as your characters. You know what, if Kristen or Robert were casted in the movie, see it anyway. I'm sure it wil still be great.

For those of you, very few of you, who have no problem with Kristen Stewart in any way/matter at all including this MAXIMUM RIDE debate, I applaud you for being open enough to give Kristen a chance, or if you are just a fan. You are truly awesome people.

So: Kristen Stewart as Max?: Okay. Robert Pattinson as Fang?: No. He has the acting chops, but he is 25, and just not Fang. He isn't how JP described him. But, I will not bash him just because he doesn't look like Fang.

So, please. Stop bashing Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. Give Kristen specifically, and Robert, a chance.

Anything by Stephen King. Except from a Buick 8.
Harry Potter. (yes I said it. Cliche', I know, but true in my opinion)
The Obernewtyn series by Isobelle Carmody.

The biggest problem with twilight is the lack of depth and change in the characters. They just don't seem real. Nobody stays the same while they're changing from 17 all the way to 19. It's just not believeable.
Plus, most of Breaking Dawn was a rushed, silly whim in which I got the impression Meyer wanted it to end asap. Very quick, unsatisfying solutions...
...
Mods don't care about context, just the words, sugar.

And what are you even babbling about anyways?
i can name a lot of books better than Twilight. i mean i like Twilight, i read it before the Twilight craze, but there are plenty of books out there better than Twilight just like there are better books than Harry Potter

I used to love twilight. Now I don't like it. And you're right! A Million books better than Twilight.
Harry potter and Twilight are two differnet storylines. one has magic and the classic "good VS evil" thing, whereas twilight has vampyres/ werewolves and major romance. I dont believe that you can put them in the same catergory. Thats my veiw anyway...
I can name INFINITY books better than Twilight. Every single book in the world, EXCEPT Following Fake Man. Which is the worst book of all time, which I HAVE to READ over the SUMMER!!!

Those books were far from perfect. They were okay. Extremely predictable.

Megan, you got problems. If you think that twilight was a good movie, then you should have your brain checked. BTW, the books were good, but not perfect. You want an awesome book, go to a library and search for it. I could rattle off a list of books that I love right here and now, and i can gurantee you that over five sixths of them would be better than twilight.

For example, I don't know what your definition of a good book is, but one of the best in my opinion is the Inheritance trilogy. Those are Eragon, Eldest, and Brsingr. They have so much in common with twilight. The movie for Eragon sucked just as bad as Twilight did for one, and for another, They both involve the best subject material.

One thing I have to say is that the Inheritance trilogy is over twenty times better than twilight because it was written by a fifteen year old who really understands what a childs mind is thinking, and he connects with it and makes really vivid pictures in your head as you read. I'm not saying that Twilight didn't do this, I'm just saying that Christopher Paolonni(Sorry not sure of spelling) did a much better job of it.

No offense was intended in this post.

I'm serious as a heart attack, man. Perhaps it wasn't how the character acted in the book, but he sure as hell got the spirit of Edward down.
