My Maximum Ride Script
I just thought I'd post this again, because the other one seems to have been removed and I would like to continue getting feedback from new people. So don't even say repeat thread.
Plus, It's not like there are really any other good topics going on in The Flock Goes Hollywood section
So this is my version of how the script should be (the beginning). I added the flashback because people kept saying that they were going to add prequel-ness to it, which I didn't like, so I thought that if they were going to put it in, it should be something like that, short and to the point. So enjoy! :]
A black screen. You hear a tape player start to go (hear a beep and the tape rolling). Max's voice starts to talk, but the screen is still black.
Max: Congratulations. The fact that you're watching this means you've taken one giant step closer to surviving till your next birthday. (flashes to a split second of her running through woods from the Erasers. Goes back to a black screen.) Yes, you, sitting there, watching this movie. Do not stop. I'm dead serious. Your life could depend on it. (flashes to it again) This is my story, the story of my family, but it could just as easily be your story. We're all in this together, trust me on that.
The screen changes to a shot of the open sky. It shows the title Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment. The camera pans down quickly to the woods and shows Max running from the Erasers. She is panting. She looks behind her as she continues to run. It shows a shot of the Erasers behind her. She turns around and her face scratches again a tree branch, but she continues to run. She comes to a clearing in the trees and comes across the edge of the mountain. She stops abruptly, almost falling off the cliff. She looks around, then behind her and hears the Erasers coming closer. She closes her eyes, takes a deep breath in, and lets her body fall off the cliff just as the Erasers come out of the woods. She falls about 15 feet then opens her eyes and lets out her wings. She swoops up into the air and hovers above the Erasers, smiling mockingly at them. She is about to turn around and fly away when one of the Erasers picks up his gun and points it at her chest. Her eyes fill with fear. She looks at her chest; there is a red dot there from the gun. The Eraser smiles, he shoots the gun. Max suddenly jolts up in her bed, waking from her dream, panting heavily. She looks at her chest and sees that there is no dot. She breathes a sigh of relief and lies back in her bed for a few seconds, then gets up.
The scene changes to see her walking out of her bedroom, fully dressed, into the hallway. She walks past a picture of the flock and Jeb. She picks it up and looks at it.
The scene cuts to a flashback of them as they are escaping from the School. Jeb and the flock are running away from the school. There is fighting and struggle in the background.
Jeb: Max you have to get out of here. Save yourselves. Get back to the house as fast as
you can. Don't look back.
He runs back towards the school.
Max: Jeb!
She calls after him, but he doesn't hear. Her eyes are filled with fear and worry. Fang grabs her shoulder and pulls her back.
Fang: Come on, we have to get out of here!
She turns around and nods. They fly away; she looks back with sadness in her eyes.
The flashback ends. Cuts back to the picture. Shows Max's face. She half smiles at the picture.
Max: If only you could help me now, just like back then.
She puts down the picture and walks into the kitchen. She opens the cabinet and looks inside. The camera cuts to Gazzy as he walks into the kitchen, sleepily rubbing his eye.
Gazzy: Mornin’ Max.
Max turns around.
Max: Morning Gazzy
She walks over to him. She kisses him on the top of his head
Gazzy: What’s for breakfast?
Max: Umm...it’s a surprise.
She walks into the kitchen again. Gazzy follows her in.
Gazzy: I’ll pour juice.
Max turns around and smiles at him.
Max: Thanks.
Gazzy: No problem.
He smiles back, opening the refrigerator. Camera shows Iggy walk into the living room and fall onto the couch.
Max: Rise and shine, Ig.
Iggy: (grunts) Bite me.
Max: Fine, miss breakfast.
Iggy: With you cooking it, that’s probably not a bad idea.
Max grimaces at him (even though he isn’t looking at her). She turns back around and looks back into the cabinet. She takes out six plates. Suddenly the air becomes tense. Max’s face becomes straight. She feels chills run down her body, as if there were an enemy approaching. She turns around quickly and is startled when she sees Fang standing right behind her.
Max: (gasps, then lets out a sigh of relief. She hits him lightly on the arm) Will you quit that!
He smiles down at her.
Fang: Quit what? Breathing?
Max glares back at Fang as Iggy walks into the kitchen. He pulls a frying pan out of a cabinet.
Iggy: Relax. I’ll make eggs.
Max: Thanks Iggy.
Max pushes the plates she is holding into Fang’s arms.
Max: You set the table. I’ll go wake up the girls.
She walks out of the kitchen and into a bedroom. She opens the door to a dark room where Nudge is sleeping. She walks over to the window and opens the blinds letting in sunlight. Nudge cringes and groans. She pulls a pillow on top of her head. Max walks over and pulls it up. Nudge blinks slowly adjusting to the light.
Max: Hey, up and at ‘em. Breakfast will be ready soon. Get up and face the day.
Nudge sits up in her bed slowly, still tired, her eyes only half open. Max walks over to the other side of the room to where there is a small bed with a curtain around it. She pulls back the curtain. There are books and stuffed animals crowding the edges of the bed. Angel is inside sitting on her bed. She had just put on her shirt and is pulling her hair out from under it. She smiles at Max.
Angel: Hi Max. Can you do my buttons?
Max: Of course.
Angel turns around as Max starts to button up her shirt. She finishes and Angel turns back around. She smiles and hugs Max, then kisses her cheek. Max smiles back.
Max: Ok, come on, let’s go eat breakfast. Iggy’s making––
Angel interrupts her and finishes her sentence.
Angel: ––eggs. I know.
Angel smiles up at Max innocently.
Max: All right, you little mind-reader, let’s go.
Max rubs her hair lightly and smiles. Angel jumps down from her bed and follows Max and Nudge out of the room.

thanks, that's what I was going for. I don't want the writers to stray too far from it. They should make it as close as possible.

Maybe you should write the script :P
I especially like how you stayed very close to the book. That's what generally RUINS movies. I can't stand it when directors/writers/ whateverers stray so far away from the book, it's hardly the same story. I mean-really! If they want to change it that much, just write a completely different story! Don't ruin this one! They have absolutely no right to do that! Ugh! *mutters to self* ehem......sorry about that little um, rantish thingy......
Anyway, one thing that I think you should have kept in is the whole part around where Angel says, "Maybe I'm you're favorite because I'm like your little girl," or something like that. Her importance to Max is very relevant to the story.
Overall, it's very good. Continue, por favor? =]
